Flash and Media Capture is a Windows plugin application for MS Internet Explorer.

It adds a nice toolbar that allows you to save all images, Flash video and applets from a page to the folder you want.

If you want to save online video (FLV format,) please visit the page with the video, wait until it loads in the page and then click the Video Cache button on Flash and Media Capture toolbar. The program can also save such files automatically to a pre-defined folder (AutoSave feature.)

Flexible video conversion
Flash video files (FLV) are not supported by most of portable devices (cell phones, PDA and players) and home multimedia appliances. Flash and Media Capture gives a convinient way to save captured video in various formats. Select the desired video file in the application's Save dialog and click the Convert file button.

You can convert flash video to one of the following formats: AVI, iPhone, iPod, MPEG-4, MOV, MPEG-1, WMV.

Saving all kinds of media with an ease
This tool is great for making collections of images on your disk from online photo albums, image forums and desktop wallpaper sites.

It also allows you to automatically save images (all or above certain dimensions), video files and Flash to the folder you want. For example, you may browse a picture gallery and have all photos you see to be kept in a folder on your hard disk.

There is a dialog window included that shows all images, video and Flash files on the page. Preview and selective save is possible.

Flash and Media Capture also has unique capability to save Compound Flash Files. It is necessary when Flashapplet consists of several linked .swf files. Saving only one of them will not make working such Flash appletcorrectly.

It's great for those that want to conduct tutorials or tweak pictures with an image editor.

With Desktop Activity Recorder, you can record the entire screen or section of the screen of your choosing and the result will be saved in an AVI or SWF file with the codec of your choice. As the recordings may include audio and annotations, you will have a tutorial with a professional voice-over and written instructions within minutes. You can record and replay the progress of your screencasts in real time and record sound through a microphone for better audio results.

On the downside however, it does not give you many options when it comes to editing the audio so if you make a mistake, you've pretty much got to go back and edit the whole thing again which can be a real pain, especially if you've just recorded a long speech.

Nevertheless, it's a great start for those that have never done screencasts or tutorials because it's remarkably easy to use.
